De facto Promotions launched for National School Sport Week
Josie Cichockyj returned to Newsome High School and Sports College nearly thirty years on to formally launch her new Business.
The three times Paralympian was special guest at the Humanties Department themed Olympiad week that was scheduled to coincide with National School Sport Week, a partnership with the Youth Sport Trust.

The event had school pupils organising the customary discus and Javelin type events. These were integrated into other fun events including a sack race, three legged race and lime and spoon race. The lime and school race was an idea developed through the international partnership the school has with Ghana.
Josie said ‘Returning to the old school was surreal and a truly a visit down memory lane’. The only difference being the fantastic new facilities the school had built, a new dance studio, tennis courts, Astroturf but to name a few’.
The school has much to be proud of and this new approach to sport in the lead to 2012 headed by Alex Gilbert , Director of Sport and Head Teacher, Paul Gittins is testimony to the schools success.

Josie stated, “The launch of the de facto Promotions business was a tribute to her humble beginnings at school to the international experiences in sport she shares today”.
De facto Promotions will provide opportunities to learn about the Paralympic experience through Josie marketing the opportunities through inspirational speeches, disability coaching and disability equality training.
